Our Pastor
1983, Elder Teague was called to the ministry under the leadership of Pastor, Rev. Billy White, formally of Bethesda Full Gospel Church, Buffalo, NY. In 1988, Elder Teague accepted his calling to minister God's Holy Word, under Pastor, Rev. Willis Wright, formally of Bethesda Full Gospel Church, Buffalo, NY.
In 1989, Elder Teague relocated to Miami, Florida and served under the leadership of the Late Pastor Lenwood Cooper of Cooper Temple COGIC. During his tenure, he developed and trained under the late Elder Cooper and was licensed and ordained through the Eastern Florida Jurisdiction, Church Of God In Christ Presiding Prelate, Bishop Jacob Cohen.
In 1995, Elder Teague was commissioned by God to evangelize full-time. While evangelizing, God opened many doors wherein many souls were saved, delivered and filled with the Holy Ghost! Also, God has blessed Pastor Teague to establish rapport with some of the most prominent Bishops, National Evangelists, Pastors and National/State officials of many churches throughout various United States.
During Pastor Teague's ministry, the Lord impressed a New Vision and Higher calling on his life. In 1996, God granted him the opportunity to serve as Pastor of Bethel COGIC of Schenectady, NY of the New York #1 Western Jurisdiction, Presiding Prelate, Bishop LeRoy R. Anderson. While pastoring, he has attended the Mid-Hudson Bible Institute in Albany, NY.
In 1999, Pastor Vincent E. Teague marched his membership to a larger edifice that seated approximately 250+ and renamed the church New Bethel Community COGIC.
In 2004, New Bethel Community COGIC has been blessed to purchase their church home which seats over 500. The NBC family is honored by what God has given through this natural as well as spiritual expansion.
Under the leadership of Pastor Teague and the accomplishments of the NBC Ministry within the community include the following: Adopt-A- Block” program in Jerry Burrell Park consisting of a tent ministry, feed the community, giving of games and prizes for children. Other various activities include, Community Day for the Hamilton Vale area, Family & Friends Reunion, Revivals, Banquets, Television Broadcast, 911 (September 11, 2001) Memorial Service, Biblical Institute, Training & Development of Ministerial Staff, “Winter Warm-Up program” (feeding neighborhood children hot chocolate and donuts during the winter). Out-Reach Ministry (witnessing and spreading God’s word throughout the community) to include the “Helping Hands Ministry (food & clothing closet for those in need).
In October of 1999, Pastor Teague was awarded the Key to the City of Schenectady, this Day was named (Pastor Vincent E. Teague Day) by our former Mayor Albert Jurczynski. Pastor Teague received this award for his Community Service Recognition Day, and continuous Out-reach Ministry.
Pastor Vincent E. Teague is a man of great vision, determination, integrity and faith. He faithfully serves those whom God has placed in his charge and loves to proclaim God's Holy Word! He is truly a Servant of God!
