Our First Lady

First Lady “Nobie” Teague of New Bethel Community Church of God in Christ -(City of Praise), Schenectady, NY, is a native of Syracuse, NY. First Lady Teague began her ministry at the tender age of ten, singing and directing the choir at her father's church, (the late Supt. Theodore McRae, Sr.), founder of the Refuge Tabernacle COGIC, Syracuse, NY.

In 1981, she attended the University at Buffalo. While a student there she led and directed the University at Buffalo Gospel Choir. She went on to complete her studies at Trinity International University, Miami, FL. In 1986, Sis. Nobie married Pastor Vincent E. Teague and resided in the Buffalo area until the death of her father. They then moved to Miami, FL, where she served as the Music Coordinator of Eastern Florida COGIC Jurisdiction, under the leadership of Presiding Prelate, Bishop Jacob A, Cohen.

In 1996, her husband, Elder Teague, was appointed Pastor of Bethel COGIC (which was later renamed New Bethel Community COGIC), relocating them back to New York State, by the late Bishop LeRoy R. Anderson, General Board Member and former Presiding Prelate of New York Western First COGIC Jurisdiction. First Lady Teague currently serves as the Church Administrator and Music Department Administrator. She also oversees the workings of the Women's Department ministries.

First Lady Teague is most populary known for her musical background, as she has trained and developed many choirs and musicians throughout her musical tenure. She directed the Prince of Peace Temple COGIC Mass Choir, Holiness Community Choir and the State Choir of Western New York COGIC, Jurisdiction #1, under the former presiding Prelate, Bishop LeRoy Anderson. First Lady currently serves as the Jurisdictional Music President of the New York Western First State Music Department, under Presiding Prelate, Bishop James R. Wright, Sr. She is also the Project Coordinator for the newly released New Bethel Community Church "NBC & Friends Live" CD entitled "Embracing the Vision" featuring Evangelist Monique Walker of Brooklyn, NY and Pastor A.J. Wright of West Palm Beach, FL.

Although music ministry is her passion, God has elevated her into a higher anointing through the ministry of his holy word. God is continuously enlarging her territory. First Lady Teague is a well-rounded, anointed and sound woman of God who loves total MINISTRY. She is a strong advocate for God moving by His Spirit!
